Casa Vino Burger Bash!!!!

Join us on our patio as we kick off the summer with our exquisite wine burgers & live entertainment!

 

CLASSIC VINO BURGER

A fresh ground Sirloin patty with hints of red-wine and spices then cooked to perfection.   Garnished with lettuce, tomato, and onions on a toasted roll.    10-

 

CASA alla ITALIANIO BURGER

A fresh ground Sirloin patty with hints of red-wine then topped with salami, pepperoni, capicola ham, provolone cheese and roasted red bell peppers.  Laced with our Balsamic wine vinaigrette, on a crusty roll.   10-

 

PORTOBELLO BLUE BURGER

A large Portobello Mushroom cap stuffed with caramelized onions, gorgonzola cheese and cooked to perfection.  Topped with arugula leaves, drizzled with our horseradish mayo.  Served on a crusty roll.   10-

 

POLLO alla POMODORO BURGER

A ground chicken patty with hints of wine and spices.  Garnished with fresh mozzarella slices, basil leaves, and our sun-dried tomato tapenade. Served on a crusty roll.     10-

 

All Burgers served with housemade baked potato salad.

Craft Show In the Vineyards

Join us on June 2nd, 2012 & June 3rd, 2012 for our first Summer Craft Show!!!  Local vendors including; Maria Lousie, Paintings & Prints, Lakefront Beach Glass by Brenda Rowbotham, Gathering's fine pepper and fruit jellys, Crystal Bradbury with Crystal's Cakes & Cupcakes, Bonnie Christopher Bonnie's Wreaths', Carol Johnson with a Touch of Glass, Bead Traders by Phyllis and other local artists will feature there wonderful products from 1pm-6pm on both days.

 

Vineyard Update

This past Winter season/early Spring has been very challenging. Increasing temperatures followed by decreasing temperatures have created great concern for our vineyard staff.  The warmer temperatures allowed for an earlier bud break than normal.  This presents a challenge to our vineyard staff.  If the temperatures dip below 27 degrees Fahrenheit, serious damage to the buds can take place.  This will in turn impact the crop. 

So far, the vineyards have not been damaged by the decreasing temperatures.  We have not experienced much damage and are constantly monitoring the crop.

Recipe of the Month

Ferrante’s Signature Ricotta Cheesecake

Crust:

  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  •  

Filling:

  • 16 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 5 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup Ferrante’s Vidal Blanc
  • Serving suggestion: Ferrante’s Vidal Blanc enhanced peaches.

Topping

  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 15.25oz. Canned Peaches (Pulsed In Food Processor)
  • ¼ Cup Ferrante’s Vidal Blanc

Position a rack in the middle of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F.

To make the Crust: In a small bowl, mix the cracker crumbs with the melted butter and the sugar together until evenly moistened. Press the crumb mixture onto the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Bake the crust until golden brown, about 10 to 12 minutes. Cool the pan on a rack.

Lower the oven temperature to 325 degrees F.

To make the Filling: In the bowl of a standing mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, or with a hand-held mixer, cream the cream cheese on medium speed until smooth. Gradually add the sugar and beat until light and fluffy. (Stop mixing and scrape down the sides of the bowl and beaters as needed.) Beat in the ricotta cheese. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the heavy cream and Vidal Blanc. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.

Bake until the top of the cheesecake is lightly browned, but the center still jiggles slightly, about 45 minutes. Cool the cake in the pan on a rack. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight before serving.

To remove the cake from the pan, run a knife or offset spatula around the edges to release the edges from the pan. Open the springform pan and remove the ring.

To make the Topping: Melt butter in sauce pan.  Add peaches and Vidal Blanc wine.  Simmer to a boil, set aside to let cool.  Once cool, spoon mixture over cheesecake.  Enjoy with a glass of Ferrante’s Vidal Blanc!
